From Mrs. Wicas:
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM URALLY

Purpose: to help kids who have never been to rally understand what is involved.

You do NOT take a horse but you take all the equipment that would be necessary at a one day eventing rally.

Teams may be 3 or 4 “riders” and a helper (an experienced Pony Clubber).

Expectations:
A mock tack room is set up with all the equipment necessary for a one day rally.#
In addition you bring a hay bag and water bucket for an imaginary horse. Through out the day you must check “your horse’’ for hay and water and be sure that someone is supervising the horse at all times. If all of the team must be away then another neighboring team may watch your horse for a short time.

A briefing is held by the organizer where the rally officials are introduced. Be sure you
know who the Stable management Judges are and where to report for formal Inspection.
Time schedules are handed out. YOU NEED A WATCH Each team member may be
going a different place.

The whole team reports for Formal Inspection at their assigned time.
Dressed to Ride with the one bridle and saddle they are required to bring.#

Each rider will “ride” their dressage and show jumping test at their assigned time. There is also a written test#

Your tackroom is inspected to check that you have all the required equipment. Everyone should be familiar with all the required items so you can find any item the inspectors may request.

Penalty Points are assigned according to guidelines. The team with the lowest score wins
The whole day runs from about 8:30 to 3:00 Ribbons are awarded

# There is very specialized information on these # topics which you will need to
know. Ask an experienced person to brief you in advance:
Turn Out or Formal inspection
proper attire
dressage tests
rules for stable management and eventing
tack room set up

Know the rules! Rally Rulebooks are available to download from the US Pony Club Web Site
